Batumi tours from Kazakhstan

Batumi mixes sea, subtropical greenery and city life: the promenade, cafés, singing fountains and old quarters are all close together. People come for beach holidays, family breaks and trips around Adjara.

TripTech selects a hotel by the sea or in the centre, checks the flight to BUS, the transfer and the excursions, and advises when to travel and how much time to allow. Prices are confirmed with the operator before payment.

  • Batumi is Georgia's main seaside resort: the city sits on the Black Sea, the beaches are pebbly, the water is clean and the boulevard runs for several kilometres.
  • The swimming season usually runs from May to September–October, but the climate is humid subtropical, so rain is possible in any month and most common in autumn.
  • Citizens of Kazakhstan can stay in Georgia visa-free for up to 365 days; the cost of the trip depends on dates, hotel, season and the flight to BUS.

Why Batumi: subtropics on the Black Sea

Batumi is the capital of Adjara and one of the greenest cities in Georgia: palms, bamboo, eucalyptus and flowering shrubs grow along the streets. The humid subtropical climate keeps the city warm but calls for rain cover: an umbrella helps even in high summer.

The city is compact, and most visitors stay within walking distance of the sea. Batumi is not only a beach, though: there is an old town, contemporary architecture, parks and food shaped by Georgian and Turkish influences.

BUS airport and getting into town

Batumi airport (BUS) is about 5 km from the centre, a 10–20 minute drive. Direct flights from Kazakhstan operate seasonally; at other times connections through Tbilisi or Istanbul are the practical option.

From the airport, a taxi or pre-booked transfer is easiest, and there is a city bus too. If you fly into Tbilisi, you can reach Batumi by train or by road — the journey takes several hours and depends on traffic and weather.

The boulevard, beaches and swimming season

The Batumi boulevard runs for several kilometres along the sea, with bicycle rental, cafés, playgrounds, singing fountains and the Ali and Nino sculpture. Families stroll here in the evening, and in summer open-air stages and markets appear.

Batumi's beaches are pebbly and shallow near the shore, and the water is usually clean; water shoes help on the stones. The swimming season usually starts in May and ends in September–October, with the warmest water in July and August.

Old Town, Piazza and the promenade

Batumi's Old Town means narrow streets with wooden balconies, churches, coffee shops and small restaurants. Piazza Square, with its mosaics and clock, is a good place for coffee, while Europe Square is home to the Medea statue.

Nearby are the astronomical clock, modern towers and the port where boats come and go. The walk from the Old Town to the boulevard takes about half an hour and shows how history and new development meet in Batumi.

The Botanical Garden and a humid subtropical climate

Batumi Botanical Garden lies about 9 km from the centre on the Green Cape. Founded in 1912, it covers dozens of hectares with subtropical plants, bamboo groves, eucalyptus and a rose collection, and the terraces look out over the sea.

Allow two to four hours for the garden: the grounds are large and hilly, and walking is most pleasant in cooler weather. You can get there by taxi or bus, and stop at the Green Cape viewpoint on the way back.

Around Adjara and holidays with children

Batumi is a convenient base for Adjara: Gonio fortress 15 km away, the villages of Kvariati and Sarpi with quieter beaches, the Makhuntseti waterfall and arched bridge, and Mtirala National Park with its rain forests. A day is enough for a loop around the area.

With children, families usually pick a hotel near the boulevard, the aquarium, the dolphinarium and 6 May Park. Keep in mind the pebble beaches and the heat: in June and September the promenade is less crowded and the water stays warm.

May to September is best for swimming, with August the warmest. June, September and October are comfortable for walks and excursions without the intense heat.

Do citizens of Kazakhstan need a visa for Batumi?

Citizens of Kazakhstan enter Georgia visa-free for up to 365 days. Working without a permit is not allowed: it can lead to a fine and expulsion.

How much does a Batumi holiday cost?

The price depends on dates, season, hotel, meals and flights. Demand is higher in July and August, so check options and prices early.

What are the beaches like in Batumi?

The beaches are pebbly with clear water, and the entry to the sea is stony in places. Water shoes are useful; for a quieter holiday consider Kvariati or Sarpi.

What can we do in Batumi with children?

The boulevard with playgrounds, the aquarium, the dolphinarium, 6 May Park and short trips around Adjara all work well. Plan walks for the morning and evening to avoid the midday heat.

Can we combine Batumi and Tbilisi?

Yes, there is a train between the cities and a road link. Allow half a day for the journey, and a 7–10 day route gives you time in both cities.
