Krabi tours from Kazakhstan
Krabi pairs beach time with limestone cliffs: it is simpler than Phuket yet has enough infrastructure, with cafés, dive centres and boat piers close at hand.
TripTech matches the area to your pace — Ao Nang for cafés and piers, Klong Muang for quiet, Railay for the views — checks flights into KBV and the transfer, and works out the trip budget.
- Krabi is a southern Thai province with KBV airport, Ao Nang beach, the cliffs of Railay and quieter Klong Muang.
- The highlights are on the water: Phi Phi, Hong and Poda islands, snorkelling and longtail trips from Ao Nang; Railay is reached only by boat.
- The best months are November to April; May to October is the monsoon season, when the sea can be rough. Prices depend on dates, hotel, area and season.
Why travellers choose Krabi
Krabi is a province on the Andaman coast, known for limestone cliffs, mangrove channels and offshore islands. People come for beaches, boat trips and rock climbing rather than city life.
It is calmer than Phuket or Pattaya: fewer clubs and high-rise hotels, more nature. At the same time, an airport, hospitals, shops and restaurants are within reach, so the holiday does not feel remote.
Areas: Ao Nang, Railay and Klong Muang
Ao Nang is the main tourist centre: streets with cafés, exchange desks and agencies, a beach and piers where boats leave for the islands and Railay. Nopparat Thara is next door, with a long beach and the entrance to the national park.
Railay can only be reached by water, on a short longtail ride from Ao Nang. Klong Muang lies further north and is quieter: larger resort grounds and a beach, but you need transport to reach cafés and shops.
Islands and boat trips
The most popular routes are Phi Phi with Maya Bay, the Hong archipelago with its lagoon and Poda island. Programmes usually include snorkelling, lunch and beach stops, while national park fees are paid separately.
In high season boats leave early to beat the waves and the crowds. Ask about group size, boat type and insurance; in windy weather some routes are shortened or cancelled.
Flights, KBV airport and transfers
Krabi airport (KBV) sits between the town and Ao Nang. There are direct charters in season, and outside those months it is easier to fly via Bangkok or Phuket; the road from Phuket takes several hours.
The airport is usually 30–40 minutes from Ao Nang and longer from Klong Muang. Book the transfer in advance, especially with a late arrival: airport taxis can cost more, and rates depend on the season.
Weather and season
From November to April Krabi is dry and warm: the best period for beaches and boat trips. In high season hotels cost more, and popular excursions are worth booking ahead.
May to October brings monsoon rain, the sea is often rough, and some boat programmes cannot run. Low season is cheaper, but the weather demands flexibility: watch the forecast and keep spare days.
Food, infrastructure and evenings
In Ao Nang it is easy to find Thai food, seafood and European dishes; markets and food courts open in the evening. In Krabi Town a walking street night market runs regularly with food and music.
Krabi suits a quiet holiday: there are bars, but nightlife is less active than on Phuket or in Chaweng. Evenings usually mean dinner by the sea, a market or a walk along the Ao Nang promenade.
Krabi with children, couples and budget
With children, Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara are the practical choice: a gentle water entry, cafés nearby and short trips. Railay is prettier, but there are no roads or cars, which makes prams and suitcases harder.
The budget depends on the area, hotel, season and meal plan. Factor in the connecting flight, transfer, ferry or boats, national park fees and insurance; the manager works out the total for your dates.
