Bodrum Tours from Kazakhstan

Bodrum is a peninsula on the Aegean where white houses, bougainvillea and marinas sit beside ancient ruins and fish restaurants. Days here are spent in coves, on boat trips and over long dinners, not only on a hotel beach.

TripTech compares areas, hotels and flights via Istanbul, checks the BJV transfer and explains where it is lively and where it is quiet. Prices and availability are confirmed with the operator before payment.

  • Bodrum is an Aegean peninsula of white houses, marinas and coves; it is not classic all-inclusive Antalya but a slower holiday with a strong food scene.
  • BJV (Milas–Bodrum) airport is about 36 km from the centre; transfers to peninsula hotels take 40–50 minutes or longer depending on traffic.
  • May to October is the season; July and August are hot and expensive, while May, June, September and October are calmer.

Why Bodrum is not Antalya

Bodrum is a town with a marina, a castle and narrow streets, not just a row of large resorts. The peninsula is long and each bay has its own character: the centre is busy, Gümüşlük is for sunsets, Türkbükü is for beach clubs.

People come for Aegean food, yachts, boutique hotels and calm water. If you want a waterpark and a huge all-inclusive estate, compare Bodrum with Belek or Kemer; for atmosphere and short trips between bays, Bodrum wins.

Areas and bays: where to stay

Central Bodrum is handy for the marina, Bodrum Castle and the bazaar, but noisy at night. Gümüşlük suits sunsets and seafood, Bitez a sandy bay and windsurfing, Gündoğan quiet coves, and Türkbükü or Yalıkavak upscale beach clubs and a marina.

Families often prefer Ortakent and Bitez, where the water is shallow, while couples choose Gümüşlük and hillside boutiques. Yalıkavak has windmills and a marina, and peninsula beaches can be pebbly, so water shoes help.

The Aegean season: May to October

The swimming season usually runs from May to October, with the warmest sea in July–September. July and August are hot, but the dry Aegean climate feels easier than humid heat.

May, June, September and October bring fewer people and softer prices, though some hotels and beach clubs open later or close earlier. The meltemi wind is welcome on the beach in July–August, but cools the sea and adds waves.

Getting there: BJV, 36 km and 40–50 minutes

The nearest airport is Milas–Bodrum (BJV), about 36 km from Bodrum; transfers to central hotels take 40–50 minutes and longer to distant bays. There are usually no regular direct flights from Kazakhstan, so travellers connect via Istanbul and a domestic flight.

Seasonal charters appear in some years, but schedules change. From the airport you can take a transfer, taxi or dolmuş; hiring a car is useful on the peninsula if you want to move between bays without waiting.

Hotels, breakfast and budget

Bodrum has many boutique hotels with breakfast and small family-run places; all-inclusive is more common at resort complexes in Yalıkavak, Türkbükü and Güvercinlik. Central hotels are compact but close to the marina, cafés and castle.

Bodrum is one of the pricier parts of Türkiye, especially in July–August and around beach-club areas. Plan meals, sunbeds, boat trips and transfers separately; the final cost depends on dates, hotel and season.

Who it suits: couples, families and sailors

Couples choose Gümüşlük, Türkbükü and sea-view boutiques: sunset, dinner by the water and a boat trip to Tavşan Island. For a honeymoon or anniversary, book the restaurant and beach club early.

Families are more comfortable in Ortakent and Bitez, where the water is calm and shallow. Yacht lovers appreciate Yalıkavak and central Bodrum, while nightlife is concentrated around Bar Street and the marina clubs.

Practical tips around the peninsula

Dolmuş minibuses serve the peninsula, but taxis are expensive in the evening and to remote bays; a rental car solves this. Beach clubs often have a minimum spend, and sunbeds may be charged separately.

Carry cash for small cafés and markets, confirm air conditioning and a pool, and check Schengen rules before a day trip to Kos in Greece. Take water and a hat in the heat, and shoes for pebble beaches.
